Does anyone have any experiences with this unit? Good? Bad? Anything? Would you recommend it for just laying down some song ideas or just practicing.

I have the BR-900, so there's only a few minor differences like the number of tracks.

But honestly, it's a GREAT plug in and play unit. The sounds aren't much but with a bit of tweaking you can actually get quite a good raw distorted sound.

I would recommend a good mic (speaking as a primarily acoustic guitarist) to go along with it if your not into the built in tones.

Recording is very easy, I'd say you'd be looking to use it as a means of recording ideas, jams, riffs etc. as I find the scrub function pretty annoying and it can be hard to erase mistakes.

Great for storing your ideas.

I have the 600. And I bring it with me if I take a trip and such. The tones inside it are pretty decent. And it's pretty darn cheap! I highly recommend it.
