 Aged maple fingerboards 

Aged maple fingerboards...

how long will it take for my pgm301's neck to start turning "black" ?
playing everyday for 2-3 hours.

humm i had mines for over a year now and it looks good as new
cause i clean it every time i play
and leave it in a case
plus australia's humidity levels are pretty good not much moisture
and my hands aint sweaty

Mine has gone black underneath after 2 years but im a roof tiler so a lot of dirt comes off on the guitar even after a bath

It just depends. If you don't wash you're hands before playing, and don't wipe the fingerboard and strings down afterwards, it's going to speed along the process. I say don't try and speed the process along. Just play it like you normally do and let nature take it's course. --Jason

yeah, trying to speed it up will just cost you a fortune in strings.

Depends. I would like it on someother guitars, but I'd like to keep my PGM301 clean.

hm... if my rg 250 had a maple fingerboard it would be pretty black today.
but unfortunately it has a rosewood board. i would love an aged maple board... it gives the guitar so much charakter...
look at one of evh's maple boards :lol:
