That's one awesome guitar. I wish they'd make one with a recessed floyd, or at least I've never seen on recessed.

Anyway, i've strayed enough from the topic. Congrats on the pgm! I have yet to join the club.

No reason to make it recessed when EVH never uses it to raise the pitch.
Kinda funny that he never uses it like that. YOu can't raise the pitch on the EVH strat series from Charvel either. THat freaks me out and i hate it.
I think i tend to raise more than lower.

Same here. I LOVE the wolfgang guitar, but if I got my hands on one, I'd dig it out and have a recessed floyd...no matter what it costs...

On my nuno guitar with a floating floyd I installed one of these -

http://www.axcessories.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AXfrstp

So, the floyd is down only now. Best mod I ever did to that guitar. Alternate tunings are now possible without adjusting the floyd.

It took me about ten minutes to get used to not being able to pull up on the bar.......Of course, I don't do much vai type stuff, either.

I just scanned through all this really quick...

Yeah, Paul didn't notice the third dot til he was asked about it :P

And about the neck pocket.....it seems common. My 500 and 800 have a gap on both sides of the neck.

Is it a monsterous gap? Can you PM me a pic? I've been rebuilding my RG and I put a new neck, there's a bit of a gap and I've been trying to see if that was a big deal or not...thanks for the helps.

My 500 has a pretty good gap as well. It doesn't cause any problems for mine.
