Post Ibanez PGM wire question
Hi to you all.
Another question for my custom PGM.
I see in one of my other PGM models that there is a wire with a screw in the body.
You can find it under the single coil pickup, like in this picture.

Does anybody know the use of this wire.
I am not sure if it is the ground wire, sins it's with a screw in to the body and not to the bridge.

I can't see where it is going, when I look inside the back of the body. (into all the wires)
And when you look at the wiring diagrams at ibanez.com, there is nothing said about this wire.

So i hope that somebody here couls help me with this.
I hear from you guy.

Yes, it works as a ground. It's better, obviously, to ground to the claw in the trem cavity or under the fixed bridge ;-)

It looks like there is a ground wire that come out under the bridge.

I don't know why they would ground it in 2 places. They probably had their reasons though.

I've seen that extra ground wire set up in the single coil cavity of every Ibanez I've ever had a part. The ones I've seen have always been soldered to a control pot. --Jason

It could be conductive paint in the cavity that does not have continuity to the control cavity so they bond it with the wire to help kill noise.
