Post Hanging a PGM
Ok this isn't just PGM related but:

I'm wondering if anyone knows any real information on hanging a guitar by it's headstock. Most guitars i imagine it wouldn't matter but take a Les Paul and it's weight.
Does it hurt the neck/body at all?

I read once that the rubber on a guitar stand and/or hanger will ruin the finish and i have the marks on my LP to prove it. I think they recommend cloth and i'm not sure about leather.

I've seen the pictures of Paul's guitars hanging in his house. Does anyone know what he uses for the wall mounts and the hangers themselves?

Some of the rubber tubing on guitar stands can react with the nitro finish on Les Pauls. I also have a slightly dark spot on the binding of my SG from where it contacts the stand. Soem people cover the parts that contact the guitar with polishing cloths or cotton from old t shirts.

I don't think it hurts the body or neck at all to hang it. If the guitar is harmed by 11 or 12 lb's of weight it is obviously constructed very poorly.

I worry with my PGM because it doesent hang straight with the headstock being differant either side. If it hangs straight, then it probably does the neck good

I use a hook that swivels so it takes care of one side being different than the other. I hang most all of my guitars that way.
