What worries me is, you can't insert a whammy bar to some PGM301.

That's coz you don't really need one :) PG says he likes to do vibrato with his fingers that's why he had the fixed bridge in the 1st place. lol.

yeah pgms are really nice
i own a pgm301 and i love it
it definitely sounds different to RGs

but its down to personal taste
i still find it hard to give my guitar a deep beefy sound that a gibson les paul might have

but its chracteristics is more in its bright lead sound
and thats what i like about it
i guess if i really wanted to i could change the PAF pros for some Tonezones

No no...For me no...Look the PGM 800 of PG...Isn't the same us PGM800...Where is the output jack, the pgm 800 is normal, the PGM800 of Paul is angled lika a PGM500... I think the electric section on guitar of Paul Gilbert is a little improved

Paul has prototypes of some PGM's. I think it was on the old PGM site where someone noticed Paul had a different version of the PGM 90th than the production version. I think the difference was an inlay or something.

They are still pretty close to what we can buy though. Except for all the custom color ones that were never mass produced.

Yeah, but what about whammy bar with Paul Gilbert fans like me? Playing a guitar without a whammy bar is akin going to school with pants on.

as xjustice09x said, some of paul's are prototypes are are slightly different because of that.
eg. his PGM200 has pink inlays and glow in the dark paint on the body
also his 800 is made from some really crappy wood that's name escapes me just because he wondered what it would sound like. it was on pgmsite so we'll wait for eddie's input ^__^

and i wouldn't worry about your english. i couldn't post in any other language without babelfish's help and that'd come out completely messed up! :P

Paul plays a production 800, but the one you guys are referring to is the "Crate PGM". The body has wood from a shipping crate and you can see the stamping on the face of the guitar. That guitar was the inspiration for the 800.
