Post Piezo pickup for a PGM?
Hola, I was wondering if anyone here has expirimented with installing a piezo pickup system to the bridge of there PGM.

I played a Parker Fly the other day, and I must say that I was quite impressed. I think my PGM 301 would have a great bright acoustic tone.

I've never heard of anyone putting one in a PGM. I wouldn't want one myself, it's just not my thing. I guess if a person wanted to do it, this would be the set up to get. --Jason

The thought has crossed my mind. If I was going to build a custom PGM, I would definately consider it. I don't know if the electronics would fit in the small control cavity. Maybe it would fit in a 500.

Actually, Paul Gilbert himself has this pickup on 1 or 2 of his pgms.

When I watched Mr. Big play live for their "Bump Ahead" tour,
Paul played one with these pickups for the song "Nothin' but Love".

He had it hooked up via midi to get the violin/orchestra sound.

True story! :D

If that's the white PGM you're referring to (From memory was the back of the neck not also white or was that a different one he played on the same dideo?)is it not a midi pickup (ie Roland GK) as opposed to a pexxo pickup???

You could be right, Roland.
I didn't see the video (dideo  )that you refer to, but aren't piezo pickups midi compatible?

I thought piezzo pickups were more or less hidden when fitted to your guitar

Piezo pickups are acoustic pickups. They really won't make your guitar sound like an acoustic unless you have a very solid guitar with big strings. I have a piezo on my guitar and honestly i prefer the sound of the middle position Jem pickup Paul uses.
