Post PGM 200 vs. PGM 301
Which one do you guys prefer? I've been thinking about getting either a 200 or a 301. Can anyone please compare them for me? :D

If you want Paul's guitar.. He said the 301 was almost identical to his.

Where are you getting a 2 from and for how much - they're hard to come by?

I haven't found one, but I see one every once in awhile. If I ever do find one, it would probably be from IbanezRules. I see them there most often. I just want everyone's opinion before I collect the money to buy a PGM.

well you will end up paying quite a bit more for a pgm200 then you will for a pgm301.

asthetically, i like the pgm200 more.
economically, i like the pgm301 more.

so i didn't vote.sorry.

I just got my 200 last week. :)

As far as looks go I prefer the 200. It plays really good. The neck is really thin like the one on my 500. If you like really thin necks you will like it. I prefer bigger necks like the ones on my gibsons, so I like the feel of the 301 better.

The 200 and the 301 both have PAF pro's. I found them to be very bright and pretty thin in the 200. I love the tonezone/humbucker from hell combo in my 500 much better. But since the 200 is pretty rare I will leave it stock with the PAF pros for now. I may be able to get some good tones out of it, I need to spend more time tweaking my amp. Part of the problem may be that the pickups are ring mounted instead of being directly mounted to the body.

I haven't spent much time with a 301 so I can't tell you how the tone of the two compare.

Overall if i had to choose right now I would choose a 200. The 301 is still being made, and is much easier to get. It is probably going to cost you more than hte 301, but it looks so much cooler IMO.

If you do choose the 200 good luck finding one. Just keep looking and hopefully you have the money available when the oportunity arises to get one.

Keep checking Ibanez rules, ebay, MAE guitars, and the ishibashi u-box. You never know what will turn up.

301

The 200 is cool, but I prefer direct mount pups and maple fretboards. The 200 is thin sounding (as mentioned above), but somehow Sean makes it sound great 8)

I thought about it this way. Both guitars were sitting in front of me, and I had to choose which one I wanted to be my main guitar to play. Collectability wasn't an issue. I had to vote for the 301. --Jason

Ignoring collectability I would agree.

If I could have only one, tone and feel would win out over looks any day. In that case I would go with the 301.

You can play anything with a PGM, like blues, metal..... techno.
I'll probably have enough money to buy a PGM by the end of the year... so sad.

I played a 301 today... first time I ever saw a PGM in real life... you don't see a lot of those around here.

I liked the feel and sound a lot, prett cool :D I am used to having a tremolo though... but I don't use it A LOT, but sometimes.... it's nice to have you know ;)

But no tremolo is easier for tuning and stuff

But anyway, I don't have any money right now, it costed about 1200 euro's
