wow cool so $937 was shipping and customs?
that would be a nice deal
i got mine for $925US with case mint from US but since it had to be shipped to australia
the shipping and customs charged me like $450US :(

but its still all worth it in the end
PGM301's here cost $2700AUD with the case

Yea, $937 was the total for everything. I bought it here in the States so customs didn't get a piece of the action. Even though customs did get a bite off you, it sure looks like you saved money buying it from here in the the States. --Jason

Jason,

Sweet deal! Glad you like it, but now you see why I couldn't trade you mine :D

Personally, I don't care for the PAF Pro in the bridge, it's WAY too bright for me, but that's been mostly playing direct, no effects other than amplifier overdrive and reverb, since my rack has been down for some time. But, if you're getting nice tones out of it, that's awesome. And, if you already have that Tone Zone and are looking to rid yourself of it...

BTW, I haven't gotten to the 770 yet, I've had a ton of visitors the past couple of weeks.

Dave

I can get a brand new PGM301 for £800.

Shame I don't have £800 to spend on a guitar I don't really need :D

Yea, I understand now why you wanted to hang onto yours. I figured I'd try and trade you out of it though. Nothing to lose anyway!

I do agree, the PAF Pro sounds thin compared to a Tone Zone. I'm not using any effects right now either. I've been playing it straight into my Tremoverb. Here's the thing though. It doesn't sounds thin to the point that I want to change the pickup. Not yet anyway. That guitar has got it's own unique sound. The last thing I want to do is swap the pickup and have it sound like my 800, USRGs or any of the other guitars I have. As far as the new Tone Zone goes, I've actually got a PAF Pro and Fast track too, all in white. I was saving the set just in case I found a 300 body. I'll let you know if I decide to liquidate though.

I've got no way to do a sound clip, but if someone wants to host a picture for me, I'll be more than happy to snap one tomorrow.

As far as a strap? Well, I haven't decided yet. I was going to get a white Dimarzio cliplock, but the guitar is so new and minty mint I hate to take the strap buttons off it yet! lol! I'll probably end up with the cliplock, or a nice plain white leather one. --Jason

You can get them slightly cheaper. I've seen it sell for £699 somewhere, brand new.

Jason,

Send me a pic, I'll host it for you. You have my email.

The PAF Pro is definitley a unique sound in that guitar, it's just not for me. I actually only have Tone Zones in my PGMs and one Radius ane Sabre, no RGs, although one's going in that 770 I got from you, too. I was thinking about trying an Air Zone or maybe a Breed in the PGM style I'm building, but I'll likely do a TZ in the 301, since it'll be my first TZ guitar with a maple board... I'd also be into the fast track if you sell it, too. :)

Thats one sweet looking guitar.

I finally got my PGM 200 yesterday. Its my first guitar with PAF pro's. Clean the bridge pickup sounds bright and thin. With distortion it got a little muddy. Its probably partly due to my amp settings, but it doesn't sound as good as my 500 with the Tonezone. I'll try to get it dialed in, if not I will get some new pink pickups, or try it with a different amp.
