Post PGA1000 - Finally!
Thanx to Jason and Mr. Rich Harris for the "tip". I woke up this morning with the news of one of the 2 most elusive PGMs made. First is the PGM700...and I continue my search. Second is the PGA1000 (some call it the PGM1000 and that's cool). PGA is Paul Gilbert Acoustic.

Strange thing....
Thursday, May 12, 2005, our group of Mech Engineers at work take the boss out to lunch because Friday would be his last day. The boss (Robert) plays guitar and we commonly talked about guitar stuff. In between plates of the all-you-can-eat buffet, he asked me if I had an acoustic. I told him no because I am waiting for a certain model to pop up and when it does, I don't care what it costs, I am getting it. 3 days later (today the 15th) I wake up early. I literally opened my eyes, got out of bed, came to the computer and found the notices of the PGA1000 available. Strange.

But here is the link, I am one happy dude :D

I had a hunch that when you passed on that 400 that was available a while back you were gathering ammo to either pull the trigger on a PGA or a 700 when one became available. Congrats man! --Jason

Totally freaking awsome dude. WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN YOU HAVE THEM ALL!

Dibs on a PGM200 if you ever want to sell it (In many years of course, or if you die whichever comes first) 8) .

Just out of curiousity, when you talked to him did he say why he was selling them? I know Markus has been lusting after a 700 for a while too. I wonder if he has found one and is selling the 400 and PGA to finance it?? Humm...??? --Jason

Markus has found 2 700's but the owners refuse to sell....understandably so.

He sold them because he bought a YJM Strat and has formed a Neo-classical band and the money is needed more than the guitars right now.

The collection is nice, but it drains the wallet. Good thing I have no other habits, hobbies or dependencies. Once I get these, I've always promised myself to get all the JEMs. I had about half of them, including a beloved GMC, but sold them for various reasons.

If you need the money for other things you've got to let guitars go every once and a while. The 400 and the PGA are models that while not as easy as a 300 to replace, they do occasionally pop up.

The 700 on the other hand. Besides the one in that Yahoo Japan auction last year, I've never seen another one for sale. (No one ever determined how that auction ended did they?)

What do you think a 700 would bring? $2500? --Jason

Congrats on the 1000 Eddie. Its one sweet looking acoustic.

Hopefully some day I will be able to track one down.

A 700 has to come up for sale eventually. I'm sure you will get one eventually.
