Post pgm 90 crazy
hi there everyone!

im new to this forum..got a question here. Wats a reasonable price for a used pgm 90th? anywhere besides maeguitar (just sold the pgm 90th btw) which got one of these beauties? really going nuts trying to find one that is not priced sky high.

I know ibanezrules used to sell em' at around US2400, but where i live, the conversion rate is US1=1.67...which wld work out to close to 4000 for a 90th. Thats like WOW.
any ideas anyone?

Thanks for reading!

Welcome :-)

PGM90's in Mint go for about $2400 (US) and used I have seen only as low as $1800...and that's with nicks and small scratches. You just have to search around for them.

I bought mine, mint NOS for $1600 + $30 shipping, but that only included the guitar and cert. They sent it in some crap case and I went out and purchased a U1000 IBZ case. So add another $150 to that price for the case.

Found it on ebay. Keep looking. I got lucky and called the people and did a off ebay price and they took it. :)

 OMGoodness. When did u get it? recently? im like scouting all the auctions on ebay and yahoo, yet i found none..You are one lucky fellow, NOS somemore!!

So thats the original retail price for a pgm90th? Man, has it appreciated.

Why isn't the pgm 10th that sought after? And wassup with 10th at maeguitars? i mean, they re-necked the 10th right? Did that pushed the value of it down??

The 10th at maeguitars is re-necked, but they say the new neck has slightly more bow on the treble side than the bass side.

Since the new neck has a slight twist in it, it won't sell for as much as one with a straight neck.

If I was looking for a 10th right now I would probably pay the extra money and have them order me a NOS one.

Ibanezrules.com had a brand new 10th that was re-necked. It was priced at 2500.

i see...I always thought that was with the old neck.

Can anyone tell me hows the playability of the pgm90? Feel and soundwise? i vaguely remember playing it once, and if my memory serves me right, the factory setup action was rather high..and looking at all the possible footage i could find with paul playing his 90th, to me it kinda sounds less bright and not as biting as his other pgms like 400, 500 or even the 100.

was it due largely to the pickups? Can/does the 90th sound like PG's other pgms?

I think the combination of the basswood/maple top body and the ebony fretboard makes it sound too bright and thin. Plays well and is visually stunning.

I picked up my 90th in 2003 and my 10th last year. :)

If I could only have one, it would be the 10th easily. Sounds so good and I think looks wonderful.

Anyway, i emailed that guy, chris bettiol, before about his pgm 90th and got totally no reply. Hmm wondering if that's his correct email add. Perhaps he could even be one of the members here in this forum??
