Post PGM vs. ??
*EDIT*
Thanx, old_metal_head.
I tried to split off the VS posts from the AVAILABLE thread.

Can anyone name a better hard-tail guitar than the PGM? (not a stop-tail)

I checked-out a Musicman Silhouette hard-tail. It was nice, I'll admit, but I felt cramped playing it. It had a rosewood board and H-S-H pickups. The color was an ugly green. It needed a set-up really bad.

The JS200 was nice but I didn't care for the bridge.

I'd like to try out a NX4 hard-tail. I've never seen one in a shop.

Fender makes an HH Strat hard-tail. I imagine that'd be like any other strat sans the whammy.

pgms are some of the best guitars made, you are crazy

These are some of the best guitars made, not pgms :)

etc

pgms aren't awful guitars or anything but the way people talk about them here, you'd think they were the best guitars on earth which they are not.

I just sold my Les Paul.

http://mysite.verizon.net/vze3c8tw/id1.html

I had it about a year.

I got the PGM over the holidays and it just better suited me.

It is worth checking out a PGM. I don't like the pickup selection, but the neck and general playability is at least as good as anything I have EVER played (including PRS etc). If I had enough money for a pickup change, then I would get a PGM.

I have four PGM's and they are my main instruments, though I have 12 guitars overall. I plan on addng a PGM301 to my collection once I get my income tax refund. :D

BTW.. I absolutely despise PRS guitars.. Overpriced eye-candy..

I thought about buying another PGM (used) and stuffing it with some Duncan Livewire Metal pickups and tuning down to drop C#.

Most deffinatley.

I've played a PGM and it's my favourite of the Ibanez strat types out there atm. It's a very nice guitar, but still, not "me".

All I could advise you to do is go to a shop, and try everything in the price range. Don't limit yourself to purely guitars affiliated with shredders...

BTW, Hardtail strats rule \m/
