Post PGM Models
I've put together a list of PGM models and features. It's not as nice as the one that was on PGMsite. No pictures or any of Paul's comments, BUT it's better than nothing. If there are any errors, or if someone wants to add some more information to the list please speak up. I hope people find this helpful. --Jason

Notes

Because of certain models being limited release to specific markets, it’s next to impossible to keep track of each models years of production.

Some PGM500’s have been found with a scarf joint instead of the one piece maple necks with volute.

The PGM10th has a “tone 0” mode. When the 5-way selector is in the middle position, a capacitor cuts off the tone to the bridge pickup.

In 2003 Ibanez replaced the Edge, Lo Pro Edge, and Lo TRS tremolos with the edge pro and edge pro II tremolos.

Some PGM30 models are made in Japan, some in Korea. The Japanese built models are more sought after and can be identified by the "F" as the first digit of their serial number.

The 2003 PGM30 is equiped with the edge pro, and in 2004 was changed to the edge pro II.

In 2005, Ibanez changed the PGM301 neck construction to 5 piece maple and walnut laminate, and also changed to neck profile. The new “Prestige” profile is as follows;
Width at nut - 43mm
Width last fret - 58mm
Thickness 1st Fret - 18mm
Thickness 12th Fret -20mm
Radius - 430mm

**The PGM401 Also Uses This Neck Profile.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

PGM500 Neck Differences.

The PGM500 is susposed to come with a one piece neck, with volute. There are some 500s that occasionally pop up with the more common scarf joint and tilted headstock. They appear to only be 1995 models. If anyone has a 500 with a two piece neck that isn't a 95', please let me know so I can update the information. Here are some pictures of the differences. Just a thought but it would be a lot easier if there were pictures to go with the specs.

Here's a webiste with some of the PGMs

Hmm not as far as I know. Though there is one of Paul's guitars that I'd classify as a 100. Its the white one with Sharktooth inlays on a rosewood fretboard.

That looks fairly complete. The only thing I would add is the 900 has a Talman shaped body.

One thing though. The 800 says Japan only but it was available in England for £1299

I'll have to do a little more research, but I'm pretty sure the 800 was susposed to only be available for the Japanese market. It's possible some dead stock made it to European distributors for sale in certain stores. I'd like to know if it was ever advertised in any of the European catalogs.

I pretty much just started the whole list on a whim, but just the simple fact that there's enough demand for a "PGM Guitar Talk" section proves that great minds think alike! --Jason

It was Machinehead and Percy Priors that were selling it. I remember in 97 or 98 seeing the AD in Guitarist Mag every month and wanting one. It was about the same time as the JEM7BSB was knocking around
