Well, one thing is if the hardware and electronics are bad - you can easily replace that.

Now, if the guitar itself feels bad - the wood, neck etc - I wouldn't see why paying anything for a bad instrument, if you are willing to transform it into a good one. Wouldn't it be easy just to custom order a decent one?

Yeah I wouldn't trust it. I'd just get the latest PGM and maybe have it custom colored like what boardmember did to get that "joker" PGM!

Had some buddies chip in and get me the Dragon Tele for a Zep tribute show. Didn't expect much, but its a legitimate instrument. Intonates well, plays alright, pickups are vintage spec'd. Can't have stupid-low action, but its more than low enough.

Theyd have to cut a lot of corners for the Fireman, though.
