Post OMFG MY PGM'S ON FIRE! WITH PICS! and SOUNDCLIP
no bitch not literally on fire. So last night from 2 in the morning to 5 i was doing some routine maintenance on my PGM301. And i've complained a lot before that my guitar doesn't sound so hot. So i've decieded to raise the pickup's height! i unscrewed everything took out the pickups then inside i stuffed bunch of old credit cards cut in half because it fit the size and i tried it out. It worked and the sound is unfuckingbelievable.

Here are some pics.

Before!

As you can see, the pickups are pretty low in height wise. Here are two pictures for comparison. this is the before picture.

Congratulations. You have discovered my secret to playing with low-gain. High pick-ups FTW!

Rich and I play with high pick-ups. It's really great. If you don't use compressors, your dynamics will SOAR. If you DO use compressors, your "compressed" tone will still have dynamics  It's fun.

Your guitar will also get a lot more gain than usual, but it's still QUIET. AWESOME, YES?

Disadvantages: slight "distortion" due to ultra loud outputs even when clean. I like it though. It makes my sound kind of unique, I think.

SO that's what I was missing from before. I remember I lowered my pickups.

I've now raised my neck pickup, and it's way louder than before. I should probably raise the humbucker in bridge.... but I don't wanna ruin the screws :P
