The first one is probably a fake as I think PGM30's were only in white and Jewel Blue. Both guitars are up on the 'bay but who would pay near 1300 for a PGM30 anyway?

I'd say it's a repainted PGM30; the model name gives it away- JB= Jewel Blue, not Jet Black.

Probably worth about 300$ or so, to be honest.

I didn't see it anywhere. The fact remains that PGM30JB means PGM30 "Jewel Blue", not "Jet Black". In any case, someone that would pay over 300$ for anything with a Lo Trs definitely needs their head examined.

I had no idea that the PGM10th had 25 frets.

Anyone have a link to this supposed "legitimate" black PGM30?

Supposedly it was a japan only limited edition.

The first post in this thread has a link to one.

Also there are pictures of one in the dream PGM thread http://racerxband.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=16976&start=40

In the same thread forum member Ibanic said he even owned one before. And forum member sunny_hkband pointed out that ibanez offered that finish on the PGM 30 before.

Cheers for the link! It appears that I stand corrected, heh. It still doesn't explain why that guitar (in the first post) would be called a PGM30JB, though. Maybe he meant to write PGM30BL (which would seem to be more correct to me). I doubt that Ibanez would release a black guitar with the suffix "JB" when JB has always denoted Jewel Blue.

JB does stand for jewel blue, but it could stand for a number of other colors as well. It could be something like jet black, or jewel black or any number of ways Ibanez might want to name black.

Maybe JB was placed there accidentally. The shop or the original owner may not know the original color name. Until recently I didn't even know that color combo existed. There isn't always alot of documentation on japan only limited editions.

The point is that it's a cheap POS Korean model with a piece of shit Lo Trs bridge. The seller is seriously deluding himself if he thinks it's worth 1300$. The ONLY PGM30 that is worth more than 300$ is the 2003 PGM30 with the Edge Pro trem.

It's a music store. That kind of thinking happens sometimes. Try pawn shops for a laugh someday. "Why yes! That RG120 is just like a JEM!" :)

It wasn't a Korean model, it was made in Japan with a LO-TRS trem, not a LO-TRS II, which is the crappy one put on Korean guitars. The LO-TRS is actually a reasonable trem, not as good as an Edge, etc, but far better than the LO-TRS II.
