Post PGM 100RE Price is online!
Ibanez Rules has the price of the PGM100RE up on it's NAMM09 coverage!

"PGM20TH - Paul gets the most attention of any endorser this year, and he should as he celebrates his 20th Anniversary in collaboration with Ibanez. The PGM100 was Paul's first signature design, and a fitting reissue at a price that won't break the bank. In fact this is the most reasonably priced artist Anniversary model of all time, maybe Paul himself had something to do with that. Of course it gets the same modern improvements the other recent reissues have gotten. 1 piece Maple PGM Super Wizard Prestige neck, Basswood body, Jumbo frets on a rosewood board, Pearl sharkfin inlay, Original EDGE bridge, DiMarzio PAF Pro pickups with a FS-1T mid, old style plate joint as original using the current JS numbered plates. Available in JB [Jewell Blue]. $2666.65 List Price. Includes J Craft case." (direct linkage)

This is the same as the 401 i believe? Still a bit steep for a guitar that could be picked up for about half that used!

well, remember...there's only 300 being made worldwide. Paul deserved better for a 20th anniversary than a re-issue. I didn't see Vai get a loch ness green Jem for 20 years or Satch get a RG540R.

Looking at the Fireman price, this seems like a gift.

Sadly not; it would have been a huge improvement over the actual JEM20TH.

Thats klist price meaning it will probably sell around $2000 like the 401.

You should be happy they didn't raise the price even higher since it is a limited edition model.

Don't really like to PGM100 that much anyway, it basically the 301 with a trem and different looks

Exactly the same woods and exactly the same pickups

I just can't justify spending £1500 on a guitar that i basically already have

the 401 on the other hand....Ash, different pickups and a completely different look.

There are plenty of differences between the 301 and the 100. If you were comparing the 300 to a 301 then I would agree that you would basically be getting a 301 with a trem.

They won't sound exactly the same. The 100 has the older style square heel and a rosewood fretboard. Because of the trem more wood is removed from the body than if a hard tail bridge is installed. The 100 also has a bound neck.

That being said i'm not trying to talk you out of getting a 401. The 100 and 401 are different guitars. Buy whatever you like best.
