This is news to me!
(being silly)

I had that List $$$ up yesterday morning at 7:45 am EST. Street price is likely to be closer to $5500-6000 according to Rich at IbanezRules.

It was a major pleasant surprise that they even released this guitar... I am so glad to see it on the market.

I wouldn't buy it (because I'm a terrible & unworthy guitarist, not because I don't think it's awesome) but I sure will support PG and Ibanez's efforts to sell every one of them, including the whopping quantity of 18 available to the USA. Hopefully Ibanez will sell them all (if they are not already half spoken-for by now), and then Ibanez can re-invest whatever portion of the money they agreed on with PG, right back in to him.

$9000+ US Dollars?

That is god damn insane. Shame on Ibanez for that. There is no reason that should cost that much.

its been said a billion times already, but remember there is LIST price and MAP (Minimum Advertised Price).

List price is similar to MSRP on cars. Who pays that much? MAP is the lowest price manufacturers let retailers advertise their products. Guitar Center, Best Buy's Music Instruments department, zzsounds.com, musiciansfriend.com, etc etc all follow map.

I've been working the past few days so I havent seen if MAP has been brought up on the guitar but I'd imagine it'd be around $6499 - $6999. Which IMO is a very fair price considering this is a very new guitar (Ibanez didn't just take the Iceman machinery and flipped everything upside down, I'm sure they had to make a couple more adjustments on that). Not only that, it's a very limited run with high quality wood/equipment.

So maybe the price is out of the range of some of the die hard fans (myself included) but at the same time it's supposed to be the guitar us die hards are supposed to dream about. When I was growing up, I didn't dream about driving my Volkswagen, I dreamt about driving a Porsche. It's the same sort of deal.

True. The Parker Adrian Belew Signature Fly list's at 10,000$ but sells for about 7 grand.

I wouldn't pay over 1100$ for it retail, but that's just me. Ibanez are pricing themselves out of the market this year.
