I am in on this and fully intend to purchase one if it remains true to the original. I made one of these guitars and know it can be done for a reasonable price. You can do several things to cut cost like using a maple veneer on the top instead of a standard maple cap.

I am not sure you are going to get a real guage on the whole market by limiting it to this forum.

Good Luck!

I have $1,000 (US) that will be for guitar only. I need to buy a practice amp, so that will take a bit out. But the guitar probably won't be up for sale the day after Paul gets the email, so I'll have time to save. But if the guitar is expensive I'll save up for longer.

tl;dr I'll buy it, but maybe not right away.

If he does decide to release this as a production model, I will sell my wife's SUV and get 10 Orange PGM's!

I would but I've already emailed Paul about this (I had some other questions and put them all together in 1 email).

Still want my signature? Go ahead and put it in. I will buy an orange pgm even if it means I have to sell half my liver and kidney.

It's really cool that we have as many dedicated participants as we do.

:)

i bet they would have sold more orange PGMs than they will the 401.

Sorry but that dark burst just reminds me of cheap guitars like the one I learned on..... a NORMA.

It is in the landfill now :)

A short run means a price almost no one can afford (eg Fireman). Ibanez needs to make the 401 and the orange PGM the regular production models.

The 301 was the only PGM for 4+ years, and while I have no idea how many Ibanez sold, I have to believe that the 401 or orange would sell just as many, if not more.

That's what it is! I knew there was a reason I didn't like it! It reminds me of my horrible ION guitar

I know, but look how few people we have right now. Granted, it's only been an active petition for a few days, but we haven't added 10 people/day... you know? The people asking for this guitar are die-hard fans. These aren't the 'more casual' PG fans who buy the PGM's used off eBay. What this petition MIGHT do is be able to get a limited # produced.

Ibanez are set on doing a re-issue for 2009. They apparently announced that at the concert last night. & according to what I have seen, it's going to be a tight race between the 200 and the 800. Neither of those are the Orange PGM.

Like I said I'll go along with this and organize it/e-mail it along, but I really don't want to blow smoke up anyone's rear end if things aren't seriously going to happen... That is why I was careful to point out the possible price right at the start. There is nothing worse then having your hopes get really high-up and then have them dashed!

It would be GREAT if this PGM could become a reality. :)

(editing a typo)

I doubt Paul is even aware yet that this discussion is even happening.
However, when Paul (and Ibanez) become aware of all this, then maybe they will reconsider what they offer.

At the end of the day, this is about selling more guitars, and that is ultimately what Hoshino Japan wants. If the buying public wants a certain item, then it is good business to provide it.

If you want more than just the Racer X fans opinion, then ask this same question over on the Ibanez boards. You will get the same reaction there about the orange PGM.

You don't get more "hardcore fan" than the members here, and that is a good benchmark for what the market wants.

Add my name to the list, I would buy the orange model above any of the others. And yes, Ibanez, I can afford it.

quick question. Why that basic Orange PGM?

why not this Orange PGM with the block fret markers?! PLUS the reverse headstock.

I would buy this one in a heartbeat.

I believe the guitar you are referring to is a pgm 10th anniversary model.
You can find those on ebay every once in a while :)

I think that's the PGM10th. Not orange. But very cool.

Add my name to the list of people who would buy the Orange PGM, the one with the transparent top, not a solid orange.

As with others, I've already expressed this to Paul in an e-mail as well.

What's the next move Jenn? We going to let this go, or shall we make this more official?

How do you make it more official?

A few people have e-mailed Paul directly. Maybe they will share what he says to them if he is in chatty/reply mode, and gets the e-mails.

If you'd like we can start compiling the e-mails, the petition can get edited, etc.

Or if you feel that at this point it really is too much to tackle, we can shelve it at this time. Not necessarily let it go (because you can *always* talk to a business about them making you a product you want! Businesses exist to make money. No smart business will turn away a valid inquiry) but definitely let it sit on the shelf until it becomes more ripe. Seems that MusikMesse '09 will have a reissue announced, so any time after MusikMesse would probably be a better time to start thinking about this.

Personally, my opinion, based on the number of gadgets Paul has just released, is that I would not bug him about another item to be released... for a long, long time. He has done plenty... a nice, long break is well-deserved at this point.
