If you're all going to say something to Paul, why not condense it in to one e-mail so it's not 125 guys sending him the same e-mail?
That would be serious spammage.
Everyone put their comments to Paul in one thread and <--- Organizer Girl will put them together in to one e-mail and then someone less chicken then she is can hit the send button.
Sound good?

I think the spammage is sort of the point.

Anyway, I already sent one. :P

Is the violin-shaped the 700 og 800? Anyway, I would vote for that one.

I doubt they would consider any of the non-production models (if they do, then Ghostrider from IR2!!!) So my vote goes to the 200! :D

THE ORANGE PGM

Beautiful guitar, right down to the binding, the translucent colour, the flamed maple top, the pickup rings and it's presence.

IT MUST BE.

All of the guitars that you can vote on have been summarized by Paul, and are presented on the Ibanez 20th anniversary mini-site here:

http://www.ibanez.co.jp/PGM20/list.html

Of course this is going to get blogged, but I can't decide exactly how at the moment... I'm just busy trying to decide which one to vote for.

There is no orange PGM on the list, so spamming Paul about it is going to be pointless.

I like to think out my votes.

* He plans to do a lot of touring. Something that is good for touring would be nice. (lighter weight) But we know he will use 2-6 guitars per show so it's not that big of a deal.
* He already has the odd-shape covered (Fireman).
* The 20th has a whammy, so, a new one with a whammy would be kinda silly.
* The 20th is jewel blue, so another in jewel blue would be silly. That turquoise one is pretty similar, but the 20th is a limited release (only 300 available) so... it might be wise to get something blue in production.
* How many years did we see white? It would be nice for a change to see something non-white.
* The 401 is ash, so something else in ash might not be a great idea, but the color scheme and some of the body contouring of the other ash one is totally different from the 401, so they do stand alone.
* There have been so many years of painted guitars. Very few years with natural finishes. Ibanez seems to be more of a painted guitar company though (whereas Suhr would be more of a natural finishes company).

Decisions, decisions... sigh.

Any ideas when the voting opens and how it will be conducted?

To me it looks as if Paul wants the 800!

The Ibanez PGM800 is one of my favorites of the PGM series. The body is made out of light ash, which is really really light. I've done a lot of shows where I have to stand up, and it's nice to have a guitar that isn't weighing you down and hurting your shoulders. This is a very nice guitar to play on stage and toss around. It's got Tone Zone DiMarzio pickups in it with a single coil in the middle, so you can get a lot of sound combinations. I think it looks cool, too. I think light ash is a really beautiful wood. It goes great with the dark brown f-holes and knobs. It's a guitar that I played a lot in Racer X's later days, when we reformed. I did most of the "Superheroes" album with that guitar and million shows and clinics all over the world. It's a great guitar to stand up and rock with. So enjoy the PGM800.

In comparison to the PGM400 for example, it sounds as if he favors the 800 a lot more

The PGM400 is a pretty rare guitar. It's red, sparkly, and it has a whammy bar. It's not a locking whammy though, so it's more of a traditional whammy design. You've got to work with it, like they did in the old days. It's sort of a unique one. You get all of the tone that you would get from a non-locking whammy. They sound a little different than the locking systems. That's most of what I know about it. It was a pretty quick transition from that to the...

btw: Sorry to be such a bad-news-messenger about the no orange PGM, guys...

How are you the bad-new-messenger? Are you friends with Paul? You dont know anything.

Ibanez Japan posted a list of official PGMs that have been released over the years as timeline of sorts, but Paul could tell Ibanez to do whatever he wants for a 4th PGM. "Spamming" Paul would be sending him hundreds of emails with no purpose, But sending him emails where we voice our opinion, as a collective group, would be purposeful. He would probably be flattered at our interest in his rare guitar and our desire for it to become a production model.

I still motion for an official Orange PGM petition.
