I've gotten numerous dealers telling me its $1899.

I pre-ordered mine. How do the Air Classics match up to the Duncan '51s? Anyone know?

I just can't fathom spending so much money on a similar style of guitar. If it was a different shape, had a relavtively different neck or had a floating trem, then I could understand you owning both.

I can't imagine any difference in tone between the two being worth £1500.

Basswood>Ash
Paf Pro's>Air Classics (nickel covers which affects the sound)
Different neck joint
Maple>Rosewood fretboard

Justifys having a different guitar to me and seeing as i love the neck on my 301 i know I'll be completely satisfied

My bank account won't be though :(

Those will affect tone obviously, but to me it's a bit like owning an Aston Martin Vanquish then buying a DB7. Both are different and great, but you would be mad or eccentric with money to own both at once.

I do apologise for sounding like 'Dad', but I hope you appreciate your financial security considering.

Based on the information you have previously given me, I expected as much, hence I hope you appreciate your fortune.

I still think it would be an extraordinary purchase. I would factor in your graduate wages and how long you plan to be living at home.

By no means think I am some 'hard done by' man myself, I am extremely thankful for the contribution of my parents to my education.

Likewise, i appreciate it thoroughly. After the PGM401 i won't be buying another guitar in the following 24 months, i can promise you that.

I undoubtedly spend an equal amount each year socialising, wining and dining. If you can budget accordingly, then by all means enjoy your axe good sir!
