i agree with eric, its better to have an topic instead of a bs topic somewhere mentioning it.

It looks awsome!! I haved played Pauls real PGM401! and i thought that the neck was waay thicker than my 550 but it seems to be a really nice guitar!

Personally, I don't like it. Visually, the only thing about it that says "PGM" is the F-Holes. Other than that, it reminds me of this in a sunburst finish; Image

Ring mounted pickups, and standard headstock don't help it either.

Not having played one, the only redeeming quality it seems to have is the Ash body. I bet it does sound good, but for a list price of $2500, no thanks. --Jason

If ibanez had someone check out this forum for 10 minutes, it would be clear that they should of produced and orange pgm and im sure a reissue 800 would sell too....then again im really biased towards that one, lol.

yeah, I agree with Spins..

I do actually like that PGM.. I'd go for the one off of the GOOMY tour first, but this one is cool too.. Nice and Vintagy.. (is that a word) ?

301 is much better to look at, there are many better looking sunburst guitars out there, also fireman when it comes out should have f holes on it by law!!

Actually I kinda like the way it looks. But there's no way I'd buy it.

there's no way i'd buy it because of two things:

1. Money

and

2. I WANT A FIREMAN!!!

Because of the body wood it probably would make more sense to call it the 801.

They have already used up the 100's from 1 to 9 (10 if you include the PGA1000). I guess they decided to increment the current model number. 301->401. Maybe the next one will be the 501.

I don't think the numbering system has to make sense. As long as every guitar has its own number.

Just to keep things in some kind of numerical order, I think they should have gave it the PGM1000 designation. --Jason

Come on now, it's not that bad. At first looks, I didn't, but now I do like it, wouldn't go out and get it if I had $2000, way too many cool Ibanez PGM, JEM's and other nice J.Custom's out there. What would have been cool, is if they matched the headstock with the burst, like what Vai's sig model's did for a while with the floral pattern.

Sorry it's horrible. It's missing any of that quirky-ness that you only get from Paul Gilbert signature guitars. Sunburst is just a boring colour imo. It needs something extra.

Its not horrible but its just so bland and lacks character compared to any other PGM.

I'd take the fireman over this every single time, or one of J's custom PGM's
