Isn't Korina a cheap wood that is used on Epiphone explorers and V's?

Gibson uses Korina in small amounts. Some of the original V's and explorers were korina. They have custom shop explorers and V's made out of korina. I think they also did a small run of Les Pauls with Korina instead of Mahogany a few years back.

PRS has a Mcarty Korina model.

Korina is good tone wood. Just because it is used on some Epiphones doesn't mean it is bad.

Korina (or the actual name Limba) is an exceptional tone wood for instruments. However, it is an expensive wood (in large defect free blocks) and difficult to finish. Therefor making it impractical for mass produced guitars.

Very curious if they're going to release the H-H Fireman as well then, considering that was the guitar that was most prominent in the video, and at the end it refers to that one as his "Signature" guitar as well.

If this is true I have quite the choice on my hands.

If they do release the Fireman in the H-H configuration, I'll be more likely to consider it. I've already got a handful of single coil-equipped guitars, but no H-H ones!

Are you ready for this guys?

Hi Anthony,
I am glad to hear that you like DiMarzio pickups. I called Ibanez today and the guitar prices have not been finalized yet, however they are thinking between $2,000 and $3,000 (list) ....... depending on the model. Hope that helps and we are releasing another Paul guitar video on the Jan. 10th.
All the best,
Larry DiMarzio

Please don't hurt me dino :( I can't help but spread the gossip

OUCH!

I hope the between stays at the US$ 2010!

It's a lot of money for a guitar, but hey: DEPENDING ON THE MODEL ??

This must mean the S S S and the H-H are being released :P
