Post Guessing the price point for the fireman.
hey everyone, I've lurked here for a while for all the latest racerx/pg news. Great site you got here.

I've been contemplating how much the fireman is going to cost, and frankly, I'm terrified. I want to get my hands on the S/S/S version, not just because its pauls, but simply because its incredibly unique, and there aren't alot of SSS guitars on the market other than a strat of course.

Anyways, I'm looking at the most expensive Ibanez's on musiciansfriend, and after seeing a Ibanez RGT320Z going for 2399. I got scared, considering the fireman is neck through and korina.

Let's try to guess it!

I'm guessing 2500 but dear jesus if thats how much it will be I'll be pretty bummed. and so will my credit card. bahaha

That's what he thought the price would be. For us in Norway atleast.

EDIT: I checked my email again and it was the price of the 401. Sorry for the confusion.

And I hate living in Norway because of the taxes we have to pay on instruments. :x

I'd much rather get a custom Suhr for that price. Plus it will have superior build quality.

Well something to have to consider is list price vs. selling price.

The pgm301 list price is 1800. check ibby webby.

So I'm thinking popularity + cool new guitar = $2400. Sell price $1900 or something. gtg to school!

Tell me about it, or even a Steinberger. But I'm sure those out there where money isn't an issue, a new Ibanez makes it under the tree this year..

If the number produced is going to be 55, I bet the list price will be in the $6000 range. I could be wrong though. It could be even higher. The Black Dog JS they came out with was limited to 88, and list on it was $7999. List on the 401 is right at $2,500.

If list is really is going to be $2500, then MAP would be about $1900. That is a bit steep for a fixed bridge, bolt on neck guitar. I don't see the marketing brains behind that decision.

I don't even want to speculate on what the 20th will be, but it is looking more and more like it will be too overpriced.

considering its neck through, a completely odd shape and a really cool popular guitar among paul gilbert fans. Ibanez is going to jack it harcore I think.

sigh

wait...that's a joke, right? They are making more than 55 firemans..

I thought it was just the first 55 sold got a free hippie strap!!!!!!!!

What the HELL?!

Okay, in the case of only 55 made, I'm guessing list price atleast $6,000, to me that's minimum.
Sale price? Not a wohle lot less, maybe $4.9k

absurdity.

ABSURD. If someone wants the fucking gutiar for it's sounds, YOU CAN'T! You can get an rg anywhere, but a fireman? an iceman is nothing close, not to mention the HH config. and the paint job. and the cheapness.

Puhleaze!

That information is taken from hippie's e-mail to me

I cannot sell the backing with Paul Gilbert's name on it to you, only Paul Gilbert receives his name. With the Fireman, Paul has given approval for his name on (55) guitar straps to Ibanez for the NAMM show release. I can sell the design without Paul's name, or substitute your name. Or, you would have to purchase from Ibanez (1) of the new Fireman Guitars that come with the strap. ( i presume these are the mass marketed ones that come with NO NAME on)
Sorry, please let me know.....
Ginny,

Interpret it as you wish, the way i read it is that the fireman guitars on show at the NAMM show WILL have a hippie strap with Paul's name on it. All the others will have plain hippie fireman straps.

I could e-mail hippie and get an answer if anyone would like that?

I think they'll have the limited edition, and then a regular run hopefully.

Please, please do! I can't actually take it much longer with this speculation and people stating it's 55 only like they know it for sure.
