Post Question about this "old neck joint" on the pgm301
Well.

That's the question.

What's the difference? I searched google with little luck. Can someone show me pictures of the before and after if you will?
Thanks!

What do you want to know? Paul had a couple of guitars made with the old joint because it has a different sound.

That is about it.

There has only been one style of neck joint on the 301. Their are two different neck profiles depending on year. 2005 and newer have the prestige profile that is wider at the last fret.

Paul does have a HSS PGM with the older style square heel, but thats not a 301.

Ah. Duh. I got my facts mixed up.

I understand the whole neck dimensions thing now, the neck joint is still..huh?

See i'm getting a new guitar, cheap, and if ibanez makes the "302", HSS, I have to decide if i want it.

What do the 2 neck joints look like?
Pro's Con's?

Great! thank you.

What are the other modifications to his new "302" besides the neck joint?

What are +'s and -'s of each?
If i have small hands, which would be better?

Other than the neck joint it has a HSS pickup configuration instead of HSH. The back of the neck is painted.

The AANJ gives you better upper fret access.

:?: It's just that the back of the neck is in white not "raw" like it used to be on previous 301 models. Same as the body.
