I e-mailed Paul last night and he wouldn't give up the info. He did say "There will be MANY cool new products from Ibanez released at the January NAMM show".

He's teasing us.

MANY in caps screams there are going to be more than one new Paul Gilbert model.

Has Ibanez ever released more than one PGM model in any given year?

I was looking for a new PGM guitar and I couldn't find one at online retail stores.

I'm looking for the PGM301.

I asked Paul at the VIP session about the new guitar/guitars and he said that he is talking with Ibanez at the moment about the release, so there is nothing sure yet.I also asked if the PGM301 will still be available after the release of the new guitar/guitars and he said something like "I don't know.Probably not. That's a good question.I'll ask the guys at Ibanez about that." :)

Regardless of what PGM models get offered, I can't believe Ibanez would not have one of them based of the RG.

So if the "Fireman" gets offered, I would think there would also be a RG based model with it.

I agree 100%. No way they'd only offer a non-RG based PGM model. I'd say look for a white HSS model, and the Fireman to be a Japan only release. For my shot-in-the-dark guess, I'm going to say they'll release a cheaper, MIK or MIC model. Something to fill the slot of the PGM30.

I would guess the 301 would stay unless they are releasing an updated version HSS with the square heel. The fireman would probably be limited edition or offered in addition to the 301. There can be more than one PGM available at the same time.

To me, the only way the HSS would be worth releasing is for it to be exactly like the one Paul plays (old neck joint). Simply changing the current 301 from HSH to HSS is hardly worth getting excited about.

Now if Ibanez would release the orange PGM, I will put down a deposit today.

I bought the new RG anniversary and I'm not overly happy with the new neck profile on that either. Unless they put the old profile back my days of buying their new shit is over.

That's what Paul said at the Munich VIP when the other guys there asked if they could buy "the Explorer shape guitar". I think they meant something else, but Paul referred specifically to the Fireman when he answered.

... and indeed there has been. Interest in Gilbert is high enough at the moment, in my opinon.
