Post New Ibanez PGM coming soon?
Is the Ibanez Fireman PGM coming out soon?

We've all seen this photoshoot:

http://flickr.com/search/?q=gilbert&w=95913976%40N00

And in the new edition of Total Guitar magazine (Issue #180, Page 38.), Paul is pictured holding the 3 single coil Fireman and the caption reads: "Paul shows off his new signature Ibanez guitar, based on the Iceman"

Along side that, he was talking to the Japanese Young Guitar magazine about the guitars and has pretty much used them on every video of gigs that I've seen him do recently.

Who thinks the Fireman is coming out soon, or is it just me wishful thinking?

I e-mailed Paul last night and he wouldn't give up the info. He did say "There will be MANY cool new products from Ibanez released at the January NAMM show".

He's teasing us.

Fireman would totally be out of my price range but I'd STILL find a way of buying it. 8)

Just re-issue the PGM200 please

Actually, I LOVE the tone of a nice single coil in the neck position. It'll be interesting to play one if they get released.

Who wants to bet that with Paul's increase in populariity that he gets 2 models this time? I think the Fireman *and* the PGM302 ;)

If they (Ibanez) release the GOOMY orange PGM, I am in. I think I would still consider the Fireman, but I would have to see it first.

I'd be all over getting the Fireman... for the 302 I'd have to sand the neck, I loathe painted necks.

Anything by PG, or with his name on it, is worth a look.

And a purchase

Whether or not I would buy it depends on the neck profile.

Yep, a painted neck would be a deal breaker for me too. I don't see them using anything other than the profile that's been on the current 301 since '05 though.

If a Fireman is built, it'll probably have a neck profile similar to the 600 or 700. --Jason

I don´t know...it depends on how it´s done.
The Ibanez Rocket Roll II has a painted neck and it´s
one of the sweetest guitars I´ve ever played.

I´m intrigued by the Fireman, especially the SSS version,
but it depends on the price and the workmanship (if it´s made
into a series version) etc.
