Post Update on Paul's Orange PGM and Dinosaur RG750
In one of the recent threads a couple of us brought up that the orange guitar has seemed to change since the Snowball of Doom video. I asked Paul what had been done and he provided the following response:

> A couple of us that bought your GOOMY insturctional
> DVD noticed that your orange PGM model with the
> black f-holes has seemed to change since your 2001
> Snowball of Doom show. Did you get this re finished
> and have real binding added or is it a new guitar?

It`s the same guitar. I just had binding added around
the f-holes.

I also asked about the pickups in the dinosaur sticker RG750 and here is his response:

> Also off topic what kind of single coil pickup did
> you add to your RG750 (with stickers)?

The middle and neck pickups are Ibanez pickups. I did
a short instructional DVD for their "Jumpstart" guitar
package, so I played the Jumpstart guitar on the DVD.
Even though it`s an inexpensive guitar, I loved the
pickups! So I had them put a couple in my RG750. The
humbucker in the bridge position is a DiMarzio Tone
Zone.

Thanks for looking so closely at the details!

Paul

I thought it was the same guitar.

Did you buy the hologram baseball stickers off ebay? They look like the same ones that are on Pauls 750. I was thinking about getting those myself and trying to track down some dino stickers and eventually make a replica of pauls guitar.

Yes,

I have located the exact holograms that are on Paul's guitar including the Dinosaur stickers. The round ones are 1989 edition MLB hologram stickers from upper deck. I have a whole set and am going to be getting more next week. I have a bunch of the dinosaur stickers so if you want, I might be able to send you a set for 3.00 which would include postage.

I just got an RG 750 neck to put on my Roadflare Red guitar and now have all of the info to create an exact replica. I just need to get the body hard tail converted which I will start in the next couple of weeks.

I am also working on an exact replica of the orange PGM but am still waiting to hear back from Eddie on a body for it.

After that it will be the Telesavalas from the IR1 video (I will do the original version witht he Kahler trem).

Their is one Dinosaur sticker missing from the sets that I found. It is the one just above the middle pickup. I am still searching for that one. The Dinosaur stickers are from 1985. The sets I have are packaged by american greetings.

Has anyone noticed how odd the headstock to the Orange PGM looks? It looks like it has a bunch of lines in it but I'm pretty sure it's just the paint. You've probably noticed but if not, take a closer look in his new dvd. If you still can't tell I'll try to get some pics posted up.

I got some additiononal info from Paul on the orange PGM. My assumptions and questions are in regular type and Paul's answers are in bold.

> Body: Basswood with cream binding - Color? Not sure
> but looks like

> (is black transparent
> or flat black?)

I think it`s basswood with a maple top. The black is
flat and the orange is transparent. Binding is creme.

>
> Neck: Ibanez PGM profile (original wizard
> dimensions)

It feels a tiny bit thicker than a wizard, but they`ve
changed over the years, and I haven`t kept track of
the millimeters.

Maple to match the body. And silverish logo.

Yep. And 5 way switch with some sort of coil
tapping/combining going on.

I can`t remember.

The Ibanez custom shop made the guitar. I was going
for sort of a Gretsch look on the finish.

I love my Reverse Iceman! But the Orange PGM is killer
too, and really easy to play.

Thank you,

Paul

That's some great info Craig. I'd love to have Paul see my PGM301 when I get it back from being refinished next week. I don't suppose he every visits the forums.
