Post DIO PHILA REVIEW
Went to see Dio and Anthrax at the Troc in Phila last night.

Here is the setlist for Dio

Intro-Killing The Dragon 1.
One More For The Road 2.
Sign Of The Southern Cross 3.
Stargazer 4.
Stand Up And Shout 5.
Drum Solo 6.
Don’t Talk To Strangers 7.
The Eyes 8.
Killing The Dragon 9.
Man On The Silver Mountain 10.
Guitar Solo 11.
Long Live Rock n Roll/Man On The Silver Mountain(reprise) 12.
Rock & Roll Children 13.
Gates Of Babylon 14.
Holy Diver 15.
Heaven And Hell Encore 16.
Last In Line 17.
Rainbow In The Dark 18.
We Rock 19.
Neon Knights 20.
The place was packed
Seeing Ronnie doing Gates of Babylon and Stargazer was such a treat.
His voice was incredible for 62 years old!
IMO, Rudy Sarzo is a great addition to the band
Would have rather had another song instead of a drum and guitar solo.
In 1988, Wendy sent me a backstage pass but I never got to meet the band.
Well, after 16 years, I finally got to meet Ronnie and the rest of the band.
They signed everything anyone brought.
One guy had an entire backpack full of stuff, including Whitesnake and Quiet Riot for Rudy to sign.
Didn't get home until 2:00 am but it was worth it

Actually there is no real backstage at the Troc.
They just came outside for about an hour after the show.

When I first heard Rainbow back in 1978 I couldn’t believe how cool the vocalist was, then a body of mine loaned me a record of Elf (pre-Rainbow)with Dio on vocals around 84. It was so cool that someone was singing like that back then. I’ve been following his career since. I’m what you call a closet Dio fan. Totally like the music but don’t show it.

Ruth, that set list is almost the same he did in Chile.

I must say that wactching RJD´s performance is just unbelievable. The guy´s singing better than ever, and yes. RUDY SARZO is an amazing bass player, he adds lots of power to the band.

When I met Ronnie, he asked me my name and told me he never met anyone named Ruth before.
I found that odd.
He said from now on He will call me ( like I am ever going to talk to him again) "Ruth Rocks" and that is how he signed my cd.
I really do think he sounds better than ever.
I love the current lineup .

Dio was amazing tonight at the Greek Theatre. Unfortunately, the set list was cut short by two songs due to the 10:30 curfew at the Greek. But it was really cool to hear Gates of Babylon and Sign of the Southern Cross.

Anthrax kicked ass as well. And despite the election being only a few days away, they kept their mouths shut and just rocked.
