Chick Corea Elektric Band - To The Stars

Chick Corea (piano, synthesizer), Eric Marienthal (sax), John Patitucci (bass), Frank Gambale (guitar), Dave Weckl (drums)

From what I've been reading it's going to be a masterpiece. Anyone else here a Chick Corea fan?

Frank Gambale SCARES me!
I've got Chick Corea's 1st one w/ Frank. 'Lot of accoustic stuff. Still good, though. Also got that Gambale Hamm Smith Shrapnel release "Show me what You can do." Great stuff!

Im getting more into this style of music and recognize the names of all those musicians. Should be a good album. Going to put this on my list of must gets.

I love Return to Forever and Chick's more 'pianoey' albums, but I've not heard anything by his Elektric Band. I suppose I should give them a listen some time, I know John Patitucci is a great bassist..

Im not a Chick Corea fan but I like Tony Williams. As I know it, the two were both essentially the leading founders of fusion jazz.

Im a fan of fusion, but I havnt had the chance to get into Chick Corea yet.

For those who haven’t had a chance to here some progressive fusion music, these are essential Chick Corea CD’s to get:

1988 EYE OF THE BEHOLDER(Chick Corea Elektric Band)
1990 INSIDE OUT (Chick Corea Elektric Band)
1991 BENEATH THE MASK(Chick Corea Elektric Band)

Some of the most amazing playing heard is on Inside Out and Beneath the Mask.

Just thought I would share my love of Jazz with you all. Can't wait to get my copy of To The Stars! 8)

I dunno... I am a pretty lazy guy, and I've ridden on A LOT of elevators... but I've never heard Chick Corea or Dave Weckl on any of them!

How would you know if you did?

(oof there's a joke in there and serious fusion jazz fans hate me for it.)
