Post Pat Torpey CD
After many years, I finally located a reasonably priced Japanese import of Pat Torpey's Odd Man Out Y2K CD. It came out in 1998. It arrived in the mail today, and I've been playing it non-stop. There's a VERY COOL Paul Gilbert solo in one of the songs where you would least likely expect to hear him playing. It's a song called QP Doll. It's a jazzy/funky/fusiony type song with including a sax player. It reminds me of Level 42 (like anyone here has a clue who that is!) . Anyway, I've never heard Paul play in song like this. I definitely wouldn't mind hearing more where that came from.

I have "Odd man out", wich is the first cd he made, and I really didnĀ“t liked it at first hearing.
Gonna give it another try though to see if it grows...

Wow! What a surprise, Jeff.
I've never thought there is anyone here on this board who has ever listened to LEVEL 42 ! I was a fan of theirs around 1989, and I think I still has their greatest hits video called "LEVEL BEST"
Well, good old days.

PGM 10th KATTA-san, you remember them too??
Still I don't get used to their high positions of bass and guitar
Speaking of the high positions,I heard when Paul came with T.J.Helmerich on Japan tour, Paul tried to make him get his guitar low.

I've never checked Pat's cds. I'm curious what the other songs are like.
Anyway, I will definitely check them out. Thanks ! :D

I sure do remember Level42, and I always thought the same thing about the drums and bass, but boy were they funky, lol!!

I hear ya on Paul and making T.J.'s guitar low, and I think it may also have something to do with his hearing.... Paul wears a hearing aid (I believe Chad told us that one).... Sad, but I know he will still ROCK forever!! 8)
