Dude, the thing is freakin awesome! Sounds like he is playing the 5150 II stock. Thats why I changed the tubes and biased it differently. It is good to hear a raw sound again.

When I heard the mid section before the solo I thought that I was listening to something from the Fair Warning album! :D By the way, the solo is just part of the solo................it was a radio edit!

He recorded the tracks with a Soldano SLO100 and Bogner Ecstacy.

Interned for what?

On the Huge Racks forums a regular that is on there acctually spent a day with Dave Friedman of Rack Systems at a VH rehearsal. It is the 5150 II and a couple of Jose modded Marshalls! Go to the forums and check the topic out in the Lounge section. The user guitartreky gives the whole rundown on Eds rig!

Hmm.

It was ok.

The first thing I was thinking at the very beginning of the song was "KoRn ripoff."

Glad to hear it picked itself up later in the song. But still, not as picked up as I would have hoped it would be.

How do you get Korn out of that?

I mean the guitar at the beginning.

Low tuning, and sparattic power chord playing.

Just reminded me of nu-music.

When the drums came in, all KoRn similarities washed away.

Maybe a Godsmack type of thing....................but Korn? :?

The breakdown before the solo really sounds like something that could have fit on Fair Warning!

I dont pay attention to the bands that were around and big 5 years ago, so I just thought of the first thing that came to mind... and that was KoRn.

Michael Anthony sounded pretty buried back there... so did Alex. I remember in "1984", Mike bolted right thru the mix (and sounded great!) and Alex had a huge drum sound.

Sounds like those qualities are gone now.

Is this a final production?

This is the final production.

Michael didn't stand out really until F.U.C.K. - 1984 he was pretty buried. Allthough he came out well in Fair Warning.

Listen to it on a good stereo. It sounds AWESOME.

Its About Time does kick some serious ass on a good stereo! I don't mind them with a more modern sound. I always thought that they should have followed the Humans Being type of sound...............well they did.

I guess that Sammy said on tour he will do more DLR era tunes, with a couple of obscure ones. That is what I am looking forward too!

Chad, you going to one of the shows?

Michael was buried?

Maybe I should relisten to the tracks  its been a while (I havnt had access to my Van Halen MP3s :()

Anyway, there were VH songs where I really loved ALL the production in it... it was in 1996 or something with David Lee Roth. The songs were called "Cant Get This Stuff No More," and "Me Wise Money."

That had some booming bass, perfectly recorded drums, and some great guitar sounds... and the singing stuck out as well too!

You mean the warm up gig for this tour? Which VH radio network are you talking about?

Eh, I can't make the shows around here. Hopefully somebody will make a bootleg or something so I can see it. I wouldn't mind a Direct TV Free-View either. :)
