Motörhead was my first heavy metal concert as well (in 2004?). Great show, Mickey Dee kicks ass. Saw them again this summer, and Mickey was awesome. Dancing behind his kit. And his drumsolo is really cool. I don't really care for their material after Inferno though.

It seems that they're playing Brazil next year, so I'll probably be there too!

and here's something a friend of mine realized:

If every Motorhead song sound like the same, and Ace of Spades sounds like that, what kept the other songs to be as big as Ace of Spades?

Oh dang! I was going to post that you should also go see Paul in Lyon, because you're such a rabid Racer X fan, but as luck would have it, Paul's show is on... Dec. 14! So it's Paul vs. Motorhead.

It's like you finally escaped the isolated New Caledonia, and can see actual concerts now - but look what happened! A double-booking!
*sigh*

Have fun! Watching Motorhead is like watching old Slayer - practically religious. They *kill it* live!

Sorry Paul Gilbert, but Motörhead vs Fuzz Universe is not a difficult decision to make for me.
I'll listen to some Ace Of Spades and Bomber over Fuzz Universe any day of the week.
I'll be sure to try and catch Paul, and tell him that I'm willing to buy 3 copies of the next Racer X album.
I'll be making snot bubbles, crying for a Racer X reunion.

Now Motörhead vs Racer X also would be a hard decision to make... but Motörhead wouldn't win that one.
I wish to see Racer X reunite so badly.

If I really wanna see Paul, I'll go to the Paris show...

Hey maybe we could catch up, will you have a phone number?
I still don't know when I'll reach Lyon though, and have no idea at what time the Paul VIP session is though.

I saw them at Download Festival this year, and they KICK BUTTS HARD!!
I liked the idea of having hot female dancers spitting fire on the stage
Two quotes from the show:
"This song is for everyone made in the island. Over the top!"

(Saw us wearing a brazilian flag around the back) "Oh, there's a guy from Brazil there!" (then they played Going To Brazil)

Holy living fuck dudes. I think I lost half of my hearing.
I was at the front, on Phil Campbell's side.
The band was fucking loud and kicked ass. I know... Chopine Boy told me to wear ear protection... but I didn't, although I had some. I wanted to get blasted into oblivion. And that's pretty much what happened.

Among the songs I recognized in the set list, and hopefully I put them in order:

We Are Motörhead
Stay Clean
Rock Out
Metropolis
(Guitar solo somewhere down here)
Ace Of Spades
Just caus' You Got The Power (Doesn't Mean You Got The Right)
In The Name Of Tragedy (Drum solo before song's guitar solo)
Going To Brazil
Overkill

There were a bunch of songs from the new album: The World Is Yours.

And there were more I didn't recognize, or can't remember.
I managed to catch Lemmy's attention when I screamed "FUCK YEAH" when he announced a song from Inferno, then I yelled I wanted to hear "In The Name Of Tragedy" and there it was. When he heard me scream he said something like: "Oh. Glad you like it". It was pretty fucking awesome. The crowd wasn't the most badass dangerous crowd I've ever seen, but what the hell, some still managed to do some serious moshing, and that kicked ass. (Yeah it France we don't do that Viking rowing bullshit I've seen on the net). What else can I say? Oh right!

After the show I tried to wait for the band to catch an autograph, but the venue was pretty big and there were many exits, so I missed the band, they got out through some other exit I wasn't aware about... so I ended up waiting a pretty long time for nothing, but what the fuck, it was worth trying. I ended up at 2 am completely frozen. The subway trains had stopped, and I couldn't get back to my friend's place on foot, so I looked for a hotel. I ended up walking through half of Lyon, only to be told everytime that the hotel was full... and to be directed everytime further into Lyon in hopes of finding one with at least one room available. After a pretty fucking huge amount of walking, I found a bar that remained open until early morning, so I got a beer and sat there, praying not to miss my fucking train that was leaving at 6am!. Eventually, completely frozen, pissed, tired, and reeking of old sweat and after almost falling asleep on a bench I got on the train. Then I slepped in the trains that got me home, sat my Quantum Physics test, and today I just slept through the day, completely exhausted and here I am writing about it in my pyjamas and socks.

Motörhead fucking kicked ass, the concert has got to be one of the best birthday presents I've ever made myself.
Rock n roll.
