Post HaleStorm
Ok bitches... So check this out... I CANNOT remember the last time I went to a show and actually came away LIKING the opening band rather than thinking "get off the stage so I can see who I paid to come and see".....

A couple of weeks ago I went to The Uproar Festival (mainly to see A7X) and was COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY by the opening band HALESTORM... GREAT hardrock/metal band with some obvious oldschool influences but with a current sound...

If your a fan of hardrock and metal do yourself a favor and CHECK THEM OUT !!!

One note: They are a band that is MUCH MUCH HEAVIER Live than on CD... My guess is that Atlantic Records put the clamps on them in the studio so the record would be more "radio friendly" but when they play live they do not hold back, and Lzzy has probably thee most powerful voice since Doro Pesch (back in the day)... Trust me, this girl can SING HER ASS OFF!!!

Sorry... I didn't find something I like.
Modern bands all suffer from the same disease: there is no cool riffing going around like Sabbath, Led Zep, Racer X, Judas Priest, Van Halen...

All those repetitive heavy chords don't do it for me.

And she's hot.

I've had the CD since it first came out....I like it. I am FULLY capable of liking new music and the old stuff.

Yeah, I've had the CD for a while too. I think Wal-Mart had it for $9 so why not.

I dig a lot of the songs. I missed them when they came through town here.

I was reading an interview with Dave Mustaine, and that may show how I feel towards most this modern bands:

he said that recently all the bands are using this low tunings, and that they don't come up with cool melodies and riffs anymore. It's heavy, but you don't really know what's going on.

For this band... it's okay imo.

The newest band I like is probably Bigelf... and they're not even a new band!

Totally agree with Mustaine. No cool riffing is going on anymore.

Only new band I like is Trivium.

The rest is not my cup of tea, but it is sure cool that some new acts are coming through!

Not bad. The chick can definitely belt out a tune. The guitar playing is pretty generic though. She needs a shit hot lead guitar player and she'd be all set.

After roughly 1994 to 2001, I'm just grateful to hear competent lead and rhythm players again in force among the acts flooding the current scene.... If you're an actual musician, you don't have to flee to Japan or Brazil just to make a living doing something other than dropping tunings and dropping out of anything that resembles effort.

So, in that spirit, this is already a fairly cool band....
