Post John Frusciante: The Empyrean
Have you guys heard The Empyrean? It's John's last album... dates 2009, I believe...

Read an interview about it in a magazine and just HAD to listen to it... its SICK... had never heard John's solo stuff, and the album totally blew me away...

I totally recomend, not only listening to the album, but listening it in order, as it is kinda a conceptual album...

The MUSIC in the album is awesome... its not centralized on the guitar... just listen to the cd as a whole... its BRILLIANT

I could never, EVER get into this guy. :?
I even tried. I started a thread on him here a few years back.

I'm glad you're enjoying it, though. :)

I have a few of his older solo albums. A few years back he released a bunch of albums in a short period of time. I think his original plan was 6 albums in 6 months.

I wasn't aware he put out a solo album last year. I like his older stuff so i'll have to check it out.

I've heard that John Frusciante didn't know how to play funk guitar until after joining Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I've been listening to RHCP a lot lately. That doesn't mean I agree with a lot of their political/ideological viewpoints.
