Post My Richie Kotzen Experience
It all began Friday afternoon / night. Met with Tefi (stef_gilberta) at the hotel at arround 5 PM. We got to meet Richie at... say... 8 PM. Hanged out with him, the band, tour manager, etc, for like 20 minutes. Then he said "we're off to have dinner, but we'll be back for ya and we'll al go to a bar or something". 20 minutes later we get a call from then telling us to go to a place 10 blocks away from there... we all had dinner together, and then walked back to the hotel, where he stayed with them till 1 in the morning.

The day of the show I was there at 11 AM. The manager tells me I'm going with them in their Van to the soundcheck. On the way there, he tells me I'm gonna be the responsible for selling all the merchandise during the show (awesome)... after the soundcheck, I went back home and then back to the venue.

The show was absolutely AMAZING... few times I've been SO blown away by a guitar player... who also sings INCREDIBLY well... really... NO WORDS... it was over sold out... people went mad!

All in all... AMAZING show... just KILLER... and the manager gave me some news (mr big related) which just made me SHIT ON MY PANTS

Me Happy :)

He seems like an awesome dude. Did you just randomly catch him off stage and he decided to hang out?

Oooh. Very cool. I'm a big fan of Richie. One of the most talented muthafuckas out there. Congrats! Glad to hear he was so cool to you.

If Richie and Paul met up with you...I think you'd explode from their friendliness haha.

Richie is a really really cool guy... but he's kind of a private guy... kinda shy maybe...

His drummer and bass player are some of the best persons I've met... the drummer gave us SO many advices about music and earning a living out of music, making your dreams come true, and that kind of stuff!

Really interesting!

Richie is A++++

He rocks so bad, he's one of the best live performers ever. So much talent.

Glad you got the chance to meet him and saw him live! It's mind blowing.

Before his solo career, he was in a band called Arthurs Museum, which reportedly released an album in 1988. Anyone here heard any of the music of this band?

Yep! Have it on vinyl. He sold it from his site a while back. Maybe there's a few left.

The records have a classic 80's sound. With keyboards and whatnot. It's good.

Is the Arthurs Museum album anything like Poison's Native Tongue album (which Richie Kotzen played on)?

I've got Richie Kotzen's self-titled solo album from 1989, and it's rather different than Native Tongue- not real bluesy.

I've also got Mother Head's Family Reunion from 1994 and it sounds like "Native Tongue Part II".

AM is nothing like Native Tongue. AM is like I said, classic 80's. It's like pop-metal or something. Native Tongue was more blues based, or atleast I think so.

That's the one I've got. Fever Dream is pretty good too, actually.
I like them both better than "Electric Joy".

I think Richie did a CD with Greg Howe right? I don't remember it that much, but that CD was pretty fuckin awesome too.
