Yngwie, no comparison. His made a far greater impact on guitar then romeo.
His a hell of a composer, and showman too.

Romeo might have some better chops, but thats it imo.

Yngwie did have a far greater impact and he continues to influence alot of guitarists, but seeing as Romeo constantly seems to come up with new stuff, and has better chops, and not to mention, writes some of the best music ever, i'll have to go with him.

I would have to choose Michael Romeo.

Why?

Because he is a far better composer and guitar player. He is (in my opinion) the guitarist that Yngwie Malmsteen should have grown to be.

If you've heard one Yngwie album, you've heard them all. Symphony X however is far more original and far more talented all around.

Also, I would say that Michael Romeo makes Neo Classical music more interesting. Yeah yeah I know "Yngwie started it" yada yada...but, Michael Romeo finished it.

I say Romeo's shredding is more terrifying. But Yngwie rocks hell a lot more.

I haven't heard much of Michael Romeo's music, but I do agree that they are both fatasses, so yeah. Twinkie time!
