Post Manson gets another shredder in his band...
Former LIMP BIZKIT/current BLACK LIGHT BURNS member Wes Borland has joined MARILYN MANSON as the group's new guitarist. The news was announced by Manson himself at a press conference earlier today ahead of his band's appearance tomorrow (Friday, August 15) at the ETP Festival in Seoul, Korea.

Manson said, "We have a new guitar player that's gonna play for the first time tomorrow; it's the first time we'll play on stage [together]. His name is Wes Borland and he used to be in a really terrible band that he left because he felt that it was a destructive force in art, and he has his own band, BLACK LIGHT BURNS, but now he is in MARILYN MANSON. We don't know how permanent that is, but starting tomorrow will be the first step. So this will be the most indestructible MARILYN MANSON."

Yeah, I heard something about that. Borland made a comment on it on his band's Myspace.

I am joining MM for the time being, but as I said before, Black Light Burns is still going strong and I have no problem operating in 2 bands. MM is playing a show here in Korea, where I am now, in about 8 hours and then I'm on the way back home to start doing some guitars with Nick on the next BLB record. Thanks for checking in everybody.

I don't like Manson, personally. There's a few of his songs that have gotten stuck in my head, but from what I've seen of his personality, I just don't like him. I'm wondering if Wes will get in there and find Manson wanting to boss him around and then just leave out of frustration. But, perhaps I'm wrong.

Wes is amazing. Hopefully he'll get fired soon, so that he can get back to working BLB fulltime. Never liked Manson really.

Wes Borland is a shredder!?
What did I miss?

I suppose that would explain why he left Limp Azz Bizzkitt!

I wouldn't call Wes a shredder, nor very complex (though he has his moments), but I really enjoy listening to him and he's got a decent groove to his playing that I find appealing. Maybe he can make Manson listenable for me...

I dig Borland´s playing.

Manson already had John5 on his band, so things wont get much better for him!

Dude, Wes can shred with the best of them... I've been in soundchecks when he was in Lump Bisquick and more recently when he was with From First To Last and he kicks ass, he's just never really put anything on record like that but he's into PG, YJM, Vai, etc...

I wonder if he's gonna resurect his "burnt match" persona in Mansons band???

i honestly think that manson and borland fit very well together.
especially if borland goes back to dress the way he did in limp bizkit.

wes borland was the reason i was into limp bizkit.

Blabbermouth:

MARILYN MANSON played its first show with new guitarist Wes Borland (LIMP BIZKIT, BLACK LIGHT BURNS) Friday night (August 15) at the ETP Festival (Eerie Taiji People Festival) in Seoul, Korea.

The group's setlist was as follows:

01. Cruci-Fiction In Space
02. Disposable Teens
03. Irresponsible Hate Anthem
04. Great Big White World
05. mOBSCENE
06. If I was your vampire
07. The Love Song
08. Sweet Dreams / Rock'n'Roll N.gger
09. Tourniquet
10. Little Horn
11. Reflecting God
12. The Dope Show
13. Rock Is Dead
14. 1996
15. Antichrist Superstar
16. The Beautiful People

Check out photos from the concert at The Heirophant web site.

MARILYN MANSON is in the middle of recording a new album, which is expected to be released sometime next year.

Manson's longtime bassist, Twiggy Ramirez, toured with Manson earlier this year for the first time since 2002. The two co-wrote "Antichrist Superstar", "Mechanical Animals" and "Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)" together and Manson told The Salt Lake Tribune this past spring that he couldn't be happier about Ramirez returning.

"I missed having my best friend," Manson said. "We were like brothers."

Hmm, I have to agree with you here. I loathe Limp Bizkit with a passion, but Wes really has groove in his shit.
