Former OZZY OSBOURNE/BADLANDS guitarist Jake E. Lee has launched a new heavy rock project with Vinnie Castaldo (drums), Fate-Al (PALEFACE) on vocals and Karma Cheema (AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE, OTEP) on guitar. The group recently entered The Tone Factory studios in Las Vegas to record its first material. More information will be made available soon.

According to antiMUSIC, Jake E. Lee and original GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler will make guest appearances on ENUFF Z'NUFF's upcoming 12th studio album, due later in the year.

Entitled "Lost in Vegas", the disc was recorded primarily in "Sin City," with some additional tracking having taken place in Chicago.

MelodicRock.com recently reported that Jake E. Lee is featured on singer Mickey Thomas (JEFFERSON STARSHIP)'s new album, which is currently being recorded at The Tone Factory. Also scheduled to appear on the CD are Aynsley Dunbar (JOURNEY, WHITESNAKE, UFO) on drums, and Danny Miranda (BLUE ÖYSTER CULT , QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS) on bass. A late 2008 release via Direct Music is expected.

Jake E. Lee's "covers" album, "Retraced", was released in the U.S. in April 2005 via Shrapnel Records. The CD, which was engineered by Michael Lardie (GREAT WHITE), features the following lineup of musicians:

Jake E. Lee (OZZY OSBOURNE, BADLANDS): guitars
Chris Logan (MSG): Vocals
Tim Bogert (VANILLA FUDGE, BECK, BOGERT & APPICE): Bass
Aynsley Dunbar (WHITESNAKE, MSG, UFO): Drums

All the songs were recorded in a "power trio" format ala BADLANDS and the tracks for the project are cover songs along that style (bluesy power rock).

Strewth, I missed that somehow! Is it any good?

I got rather into Badlands last year. (Yeah, I know, I'm a late starter! )

"Retraced" is GREAT if you like the old "70's blues rock" sound...

...which for me depends entirely on the amount of ripping solos going on and how good the singer is....

There was also a British band called Badlands.

Their guitarist was John Sykes, who later played in Whitesnake and Blue Murder.

I've heard that originally the late Ray Gillen of the AMERICAN Badlands was the lead vocalist for Blue Murder. Reportedly, he left before they recorded an album and John Sykes took over the lead vocal spot, as well as continuing as guitarist.

Both Badlandses had former Black Sabbath members.

the American band- the late Ray Gillen and Eric Singer
the British band- Neil Murray

It's like you're schooling us on things we already know.

I guess that's not a bad thing...
Maybe some people here don't know.

And I'm sure that everyone on here knows...

There is a rather large Black Sabbath family tree.

Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Whitesnake are all on the same family tree.

Black Sabbath and Deep Purple- Ian Gillan and Glenn Hughes
Black Sabbath and Whitesnake- Neil Murray and Cozy Powell
Deep Purple and Whitesnake- David Coverdale, Jon Lord, Ian Paice, I could swear I'm forgetting somebody.

And Glenn Hughes guested as a backing vocalist with Whitesnake.

I feel like I'm forgetting something/someone...

A new ENUFF Z'NUFF track titled "High" has been posted on the band's MySpace page. The track, which features an appearance by former OZZY OSBOURNE/BADLANDS guitarist Jake E. Lee, will be included on ENUFF Z'NUFF's new album, "Dissonance", due later in the year. Another track from the CD, "Altered States", is available for streaming on ENUFF Z'NUFF frontman Donnie Vie's MySpace page.

According to antiMUSIC, Jake E. Lee appears on the entire "Dissonance" CD, which was issued in a special collector's edition at the Rocklahoma festival earlier in the month. Also making a guest appearance on the album is original GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler.

It is not know yet if Jake E. Lee will join ENUFF Z'NUFF on the road when they tour to support the effort.

Vie recently returned to the band full-time after he quit touring with them seven years ago.
